Gas Pump Keeps Clicking Off: EVAP Vent Restrictions and What They Usually Mean
If the fuel nozzle shuts off every few seconds, the tank usually is not venting displaced air and vapor fast enough during refueling. That pattern pushes EVAP vent restriction, vent-valve failure, canister contamination, or tank-pressure feedback problems much higher than a random gas-cap guess.
